Effective communication across boundaries is particularly challenging under conditions of uncertainty. And, we believe that psychological safety can help to mitigate the challenges posed by those boundaries.
Yet, people often do not act in their own or the team’s (or organisation’s) best interests when interpersonal risks loom large in the moment. Organisations rely a lot on collaboration and learning of diverse teams. Given that, it is useful to consider three categories of diversity; separation, variety and disparity.
These three types of diversity are not mutually exclusive, and actually, teams may contain combinations of the three.
Join us as we introduce and explore through conversations and vignettes:
- psychological safety
- each of the three diversity categories
- how to boost your team’s diversity, and
- some tips for overcoming potential barriers to collaboration.
We’ll supply a light lunch of wraps with coffee, tea and conversation content. You can bring your enthusiasm, questions and interested colleagues.
We look forward to seeing you.
