About this Event
Almost all of the ‘tools’ and approaches that are promoted to ‘manage change’ are based on inherited and outdated thinking. Tools that seek to control behaviour and processes such as detailed, time-bound plans and a focus on deliverables are useful for predictable systems, but ineffective when the complexity is high, and the environment is not stable. No wonder most “change” efforts fail! We need to re-think how we think about change and traditional approaches to it. A complex systems perspective provides a useful lens as it asks different questions, and helps us to consider different approaches for environments that are simple, complicated and complex.
This lunch-n-learn explores:
- Complex systems, systems thinking and how to apply that thinking to the traditional practice of change management.
- What approaches are most useful when developing strategies that help the organisation successfully adapt.
- Some more effective ways to plan in complex adaptive systems.
Adaptation, complexity and change – through a systems savvy lens.
I look forward to seeing you.
